About Me

My photo
Byloom and Hyde
Angouleme, Charente, France
Welcome to Byloom and Hyde - bespoke distinctive and one-of-a-kind bags designed and created by myself in my old French studio. I am originally trained in constructed textiles. Since my time at art school I have travelled a long and windy road which took me places I never planned to be. My desire was always to have my own creative studio and to use my weaving loom to creat beautiful things. Here I am at last! I love it here! Creating bags has become a pleasure I never expected. I am only satisfied once I produce something I am happy to carry myself. The access I have to wonderful and unusual leathers is overwhelming and I feel very blessed to be able to do this from my home in the French countryside. My methods always involve a mix of some sort - whether weaving and stitching, or mixing cloth and leather..it's 'in the mix' that I find my designs. Spontaneity and instinct play a huge part in what I create.. Here you will find my musings and updates from time to time..
